- 2014 ford fusion se 1.5L
Hi all, I'm new here but having a lot of trouble with my girlfriends 2014 ford fusion se 1.5L EcoBoost. turbo was replaced a few months ago because it was Buring a lot of oil. i thought the turbo seal had gone out on it. the car still does burn oil but im not sure if its related to the problem i am having. when first starting the car, it runs fine for about 3-5 minutes. eventually the rpms drop and the car starts to surge in park. once the surging starts in park, if you put the car into drive the car will surge a few times and then just completely stall out. when the car stalls it has a really long crank time. sometimes it won't start at all and i have to let the car sit and cool down to get it to start again. only code I could find was a throttle body position sensor code with has been replaced as well as a coolant temp sensor code. i had those parts sitting around off an old car and swapped them out but i believe the codes came back. I will have to check today. we tried a new battery because hers was dying so fast from cranking all the time battery did not help. i tried spraying around the engine with a flammable solvent but could not get the car to respond to it. I'm completely lost on this car and need help asap. I tried taking it to a local firestone auto care, but they could not diagnose a problem. this issue happens every time it starts and i cannot drive much further than a few streets before it dies. once the car is above let's say 1000rpm it runs great. i did pull a pcv line off the top of the engine and as soon as it saw a vacuum leak rpms shot all the way up to redline. i cannot figure this out for the life of me. I'm taking the car to ford today to get it checked out but any help would be appreciated if they cannot figure out the problems.
