2011 Fusion S. Drivers Front regulator failed. Installed Dorman replacement, regulator only. After a couple week's use, it stripped the cable out/broke. Replaced under warranty. Studied connection points, lubed slides. With interior panel off, was able to see that it operates fine till the last 1-2 inches of window left, then it "binds up" badly, putting much pressure on the system. It actually popped the glass out of the regulator clamp. I reinstalled, and slowly lowered down. Same result..just before glass hits "bottom" of window..binds up very tight. Repeated up down and this time slowly worked it through the bottom tension. And it broke the regulator once more. Thankfully, they swapped again...but I don't know what to do next. Thought maybe the motor is bad...pushing it too quickly through the bottom?? (Its the express down version). But he motor alone is over $100, so that's not an "easy check." Is Dorman that junky and i just need a different brand? (doest seem likely for instant failure). The motor the culprit? Tracks are fine...so nothing much left to check.
Thanks for any advise.
