- 2012 ford fusion sel
Hello,
I have a 2012 ford fusion sel, bought it used a couple years ago. Last year I noticed while driving the air would cut off and on. Didn't matter if it was A/C or heat. Did some research and replaced the blower motor behind the glovebox. Wasn't fixed so next step check the blower motor resistor. Saw the female plug into the resistor had a burnt wire in the connector. So I replaced with new resistor and wiring connector. Worked great for about a year, now started doing it again. I reached under the dash grabbing the plug and the air would kick back on. After holding it on for a couple minutes could feel the wire getting hot. Took the resistor off and sure enough the "D" wire inside the female connector is burnt again. I say "D" wire since it is what is marked on the plug, it is the 4th wire moving away from the tab or lip in the connector. I have ordered a new resistor which will be here saturday 9-27-25. Just curious if this is a common issue with the fusion's or maybe I got a weak resistor last time?
Thank you for any help or thoughts
Phil
