- 2012 Ford Fusion 4cyl
I have been daily driving my 2012 Ford fusion for 2 years. It's 4 cylinder automatic with 195k miles.
It's been working fine as far as powertrain goes.
Today at lunch hour, I started the car as usual and drove for 30 seconds in parking lot and then the "wrench" light came up on dash, and the engine started running rough around 1000rpm, and the engine won't respond to my throttle input at all. I limped into a parking spot. Killed the engine and tried to restart it. It took longer than normal crank time, but it eventually started up. And everything seems to be normal. I was able to drive it back home. The light was not lit, the car behave normal.
Feel like it is a glitch. What can potentially be the issue?
I drive the car daily so I need top reliability. If it is a sign of some sensor or component failing, I'd like to get it addressed before it strands me. Any common failure points for this year and model?
